Deciem, Canadian skin care company closes its stores for now
Deciem, Canadian Skin Care company is behind the popular Skincare line, has now closed its all of the stores because of criminal activity in the company.
But Brandon Truaxe, who too founded this company has made some outlandish claims in past, some of them prompted to questions whether it’s is all a marketing stunt.
Deciem has its headquartered in Toronto, Ontario and makes over 300 skin care products under 10 product lines. It’s also known for a line which is called “The Ordinary”.
Deciem calls itself as “The Abnormal Beauty Company,” and is the most disruptive operator in the beauty business, mainly due to its low prices.
Cost of most of the products by Deciem is less than $12, and among them, some cost less than $5.
The Ordinary beauty line too offers very simple ingredients and modest benefit claims. This disruptive approach led to a cult-like following customer and asked Estée Lauder Companies to invest in Deciem in June 2017 to get 28 per cent stake.
Despite this surging popularity, the company’s founder announced on Monday that he was closing the shops, for now.
Deciem said that they will shut down all of the operations until the further notice.
Truaxe said that the shutdown would be the last two months.
Calls to the Deciem’s eastern Canadian locations unanswered the calls until a central recorded eventually and said that no one is available to answer calls.
Truaxe didn’t return texts or calls from CBC News.
He also said that almost everyone at Deciem is involved in criminal activities which include financial crimes and many more.
