Canada’s emergency alert system undergoes a second round for testing

Canada’s The Alert Ready system was tested on Wednesday and was successful in a number of territories and provinces, where radios, televisions and mobile phones broadcast the nationwide drill.

This alert system was scheduled to show on mobile devices, radio and TV, connected to the LTE wireless networks, at 1:55 MST in Alberta.

This system has been specially designed to get the critical information out to the community as quickly as, so people may take action to stay safe and sound.

This alert was tested for the very first time in May and didn’t sound cool in Quebec because of an error and some of the other provinces reported that there are a number of wireless subscribers who didn’t receive the signals.

Tom Sampson, Chief of the Calgary Emergency Management Agency said that the previous alert test was conducted around 6 months ago which resulted in a 50% notification rate. Tom also said that what they’re hoping that the public understands that it is just a test, so please not to panic.

Sampson also said that this test is very important for the emergency responders and public.
